65 years ago today, on July 16, 1960 (June 23, 1960), the Soviet Union withdrew all its experts. On July 16, 1960, the Soviet government unilaterally tore up 600 contracts signed with our country. Among them, 343 contracts for experts and 257 contracts for science and technology. Since the first Five-Year Plan, a total of 304 construction assistance projects have been completed. By the first half of 1960, 103 had been completed. The remaining 201 are under construction. The Soviet government decided unilaterally to withdraw all 1,390 experts in China from July 28 to September 1, 1960, and to stop sending experts. When the Soviet Union withdrew the experts, it took away all the drawings, plans and materials, and stopped supplying important equipment urgently needed for our country's construction, greatly reduced the supply of complete sets of equipment and key components in various equipment, so that the construction of more than 250 enterprises and institutions in our country was at a standstill and semi-standstill.
