The calligraphy of Emperor Saga

Emperor Saga's name was Kamino. During his reign, he vigorously promoted "Tanghua", which was imitated vividly from etiquette, clothing, palace architecture to lifestyle. Emperor Saga did not love power, but instead sent his love for piano, chess, calligraphy and painting. Wandering among the mountains and rivers, he was a believer in inaction. He was obsessed with Sinology, and he had considerable attainments in poetry, calligraphy and melody.

Emperor Saga's calligraphy is also known as "Three Brushes in the World (the other two are Empty Sea and Orange Yishi) ". Emperor Saga's Chinese poems are also well done, such as: "The clouds are wet and the clothes are close, and the sound of the spring is surprising to sleep and the stream is approaching; the lonely moon in the sky rides the flow, and the hungry apes in the mountains are crying." There are absolutely no lofty words, no worries about the country and the people, only a casual and indifferent tone, without the slightest oriental flavor. Emperor Saga also vigorously promoted "Tang-ization" in China, imitating the etiquette, clothing, temple architecture and lifestyle vividly. He also advocated the spread of Buddhism. During his reign, Tiantai Sect and Shingyan Sect were developed and spread.
