On this day, 31 years ago, November 5, 1994 (October 3, 1994, the lunar calendar), the United States 'nuclear fusion power exceeded 10 million watts for the first time. On November 5, 1994, the Plasma Physics Laboratory of Princeton University in the United States used the "Tokmak" nuclear fusion test reactor to generate 10.7 million watts of power in a single operation, breaking the 9.2 million watts controlled nuclear fusion reaction power world record set by the same reactor on May 30 of that year. Ronald Davidson, director of the laboratory, said that in one second, the instantaneous power produced by the mixed fuel of deuterium and tritium plasma exceeded the 10 million watts mark for the first time, marking "an important milestone" in nuclear fusion research.
