On November 27, 2009, China achieved the first double-star position swap
On November 27, 2009 (October 11, 2009 in the lunar calendar), China successfully realized the dual-star position exchange of geostationary meteorological satellites for the first time. China Fengyun-2E satellite China Fengyun-2E satellite achieved space drift and has successfully succeeded Fengyun-2C satellite. The National Satellite Meteorological Center said on November 27, 2009 that this is the first time in the history of China's geostationary meteorological satellites that dual-star position exchange and business succession have been successfully achieved. At present, China has three operational geostationary meteorological satellites in orbit. Fengyun-2C satellite has been in stable operation for nearly five years, exceeding its three-year design life. On October 22, Fengyun-2E satellite officially began to drift. After 30 days of drift, Fengyun-2E successfully drifted from 123.5 degrees east longitude to around 103.8 degrees, and will conduct double-star network observation together with D. On the other hand, C began drifting at 9:00 on November 15, and is expected to arrive at the original position of E in two months. After successful positioning, it will use the remaining fuel to carry out observations and special experiments within its ability. It is understood that during the drifting and braking process of Fengyun-2E, it did not have any impact on the business of Fengyun-2C. According to the original plan, there was a two-day business interruption time when the dual satellite was in common orbit. The National Satellite Meteorological Center took a series of technical measures to solve the smooth transition problem of the seamless connection of the dual satellite business. During the period, there was no interruption of cloud image observation for one time, and the first double-star position exchange and business replacement in the history of China's geostationary meteorological satellites were realized. After a month of practice running, Fengyun-2E will be officially put into operation on December 23. Comments: This is another major technological breakthrough in our country's aerospace industry
