On this day, 81 years ago, on July 21, 1944 (June 2, 1944 in the lunar calendar), farmers in Henan and Hubei revolted and wiped out the 28th Division of the Kuomintang Army. On July 21, 1944, farmers in Tongbai, Suiping, Tanghe, Queshan, Biyang, Xinyang, Henan, and Sui County, Yingshan and other counties in Hubei revolted one after another to oppose the extortion and Latin of the Kuomintang army. First, more than 7000 farmers led by Wang Chuan disarmed part of the Kuomintang army stationed west of Xinyang. Subsequently, the National Government sent the 28th Division to suppress and massacre more than 5000 innocent people, causing the largest massacre of farmers since the Anti-Japanese War. However, the farmers in all counties of Henan and Hubei did not give in. They raised tens of thousands of people and organized the Peasant National Salvation Army to attack the 28th Kuomintang Division under slogans such as "Oppose the army that does not resist Japan" and "Oppose the army to send strong men" and annihilate it.
