On this day, 75 years ago, on October 3, 1950 (August 22, 1950 in the lunar calendar), Renmin University of China was officially established. The predecessor of Renmin University of China was the Shaanxi Public School established in Yan 'an in 1937. On December 16, 1949, the 11th Government Meeting of the Government Council of the Central People's Government made the "Decision on the Establishment of Renmin University of China" based on the recommendation of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee. On October 3, 1950, Renmin University of China was officially established. Since then, Renmin University of China has always received great attention and care from the party's three generations of leadership collectives. Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, Liu Shaoqi, and Zhu De all gave instructions on the talent training and running form of Renmin University of China. During the Cultural Revolution, Renmin University of China was forced to suspend business for many years, and only regained its new life under the care of Comrade Deng Xiaoping. Comrade Deng Xiaoping also gave special instructions on the talent training direction, professional settings and curriculum system after the National People's Congress was reinstated. Comrade Jiang Zemin had high hopes for Renmin University and wrote inscriptions twice, hoping that the National People's Congress would "hold high the great banner of Deng Xiaoping Theory and cultivate outstanding cross-century construction talents." Renmin University of China is a nationally renowned comprehensive key university focusing on social sciences, humanities and economic management sciences in our country. From its establishment to its development, it has always received great attention and care from the Party Central Committee and the Central Government. In the past 50 years, Renmin University of China has trained a total of 160,000 specialized talents of various types, many of whom are philosophers, historians, litterateurs, economists, sociologists, politicians, jurists, and educators. 60% of Marxist theory teachers in colleges and universities across the country are trained by Renmin University of China. Renmin University of China has achieved significant results in scientific research. Especially during the Ninth Five-Year Plan period, it published a total of 2008 academic works and teaching materials and published 8031 papers. Renmin University of China has bachelor's degree points, master's degree points, doctoral degree points, and postdoctoral mobile stations in humanities, social sciences, economics and management sciences, which rank among the top universities in the country.
