On October 27, 2002 (September 22, 2002 lunar calendar), the "China Resources II" satellite was successfully launched. At 11:17 am Beijing time on October 27, 2002, the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center successfully sent the "China Resources II" satellite into space with the "Long March 4B" carrier rocket. This is a generous gift presented by our country's aerospace science and technology workers to the upcoming 16th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. The 45-meter-long "Long March 4B" carrier rocket stood tall, and the four big characters "China Aerospace" on the silver-white body were particularly eye-catching. This launch is the 68th flight of the Long March series of carrier rockets. At 11:17, the commander gave an order, and the carrier rocket rose from the ground, lifting the "China Resources II" satellite to the blue sky. More than 10 minutes later, the satellite and the rocket were successfully separated. The data from the Xi'an Satellite Measurement and Control Center immediately came, and the satellite had accurately entered the sun-synchronous predetermined orbit, and the launch was a complete success. The "China Resources II" satellite is the second transmission remote sensing satellite developed by our country, and its overall performance and technical level have been further developed and improved. Experts believe that the successful launch and stable operation of the "China Resources II" satellite marks the maturity of our country's space remote sensing technology.
