Eighty-nine years ago today, on August 2, 1936 (June 16, 1936 in the lunar calendar), the heroine of the anti-Japanese resistance, Zhao Yiman, died heroically. Zhao Yiman is like a woman and a rich hero in Shu, and there are still good jade traces in the stone pillars. The four seas sing to Zhao Yiman, the heroine of the people will always remember. Youth is exchanged for mountains and rivers, and the blue blood dyes the world red. The northeast and the southwest all look up, and the Pearl River carries the east wind. This poem was written by Guo Moruo in memory of Zhao Yiman. Zhao Yiman was a native of Yibin, Sichuan Province, formerly known as Li Kuntai. After she joined the Communist Party of China in 1926, she was actively engaged in revolutionary activities among her students. In the autumn of 1927, she was sent by the party to study at Sun Yat-sen University in Moscow, and returned to China a year later to do party work in Shanghai, Hubei, Jiangxi and other places. After the "September 18" Incident, the party sent her to the Northeast to engage in anti-Japanese activities. Zhao Yiman first did organizational work in the Harbin Manchuria Federation of Trade Unions, and later served as the acting secretary of the Harbin Federation of Trade Unions. Due to the destruction of the Harbin Party organization by the enemy, she was sent to the Central County Party Committee of Zhuhe River. There she actively mobilized the masses and organized the Anti-Japanese Self-Defense Forces to fight against the Japanese army. In the autumn of 1935, Zhao Yiman served as a political commissar of the Second Regiment of the Third Army of the Northeast People's Revolutionary Army. After the main force of the Third Army was transferred, she led the Second Regiment to stay in the Zhuhe base area and The troops were surrounded by the enemy while fighting in a ravine on the north side of the Binsui Railway. After a whole day of bloodshed, Zhao Yiman and the soldiers repelled the enemy's many attacks, but they were outnumbered and lacked ammunition. Zhao Yiman was seriously wounded and captured by the enemy. Due to her serious injuries, the enemy was afraid that she would die soon, so they interrogated her overnight. The enemy could not ask for a confession, so they beat her wound with a horse whip, but she was strong and unyielding, and she berated the enemy unwaveringly. The enemy did not give up and sent her to the hospital for treatment in order to get her confession. In the hospital, she patiently educated the nurses and guards, and finally won them over to her side. On June 28, 1936, she escaped with the nurses and guards, but unfortunately was chased back by the enemy. The enemy tortured her with all kinds of torture, but she never revealed any party secrets. The enemy couldn't get anything out of Zhao Yiman's mouth and decided to escort her back to Zhuhe, where she used to work. On the train from Harbin to Zhuhe, Zhao Yiman wrote a suicide note to her son. On August 2, 1936, in Zhuhe (now Shangzhi County), Heilongjiang Province, Zhao Yiman was killed by the enemy. She was only 31 years old. On August 1, the Japanese escorted Zhao Yiman to Zhuhe County, where she often moved. On the train during the escort, she wrote a suicide note to her son. "Ning'er: Hurry up and become an adult, come and comfort your mother underground! My dear child: Mother can't educate you with thousands of words, but with practical actions. After you grow up, I hope you don't forget that your mother sacrificed herself for the country! "The next day, the Japanese tied Zhao Yiman to a carriage and paraded through the streets. When the carriage arrived at the north gate of Zhuhe County, the Japanese asked her," What else do you want to say? "Zhao Yiman said proudly:" It is glorious to die for the struggle against Japan! "After the founding of New China, Zhao Yiman's name spread throughout the country, her deeds were made into a movie, and her glorious image will be forever etched in the hearts of the Chinese people. The people of Harbin renamed "Mountain Street", the main street where she fought, to Yiman Street, and built a revolutionary martyr memorial hall where she was punished to commemorate her forever.
