48 years ago today, on October 3, 1977 (August 21, 1977 lunar calendar), Xinhua News Agency reported Chen Jingrun's deeds. On October 3, 1977, Xinhua News Agency reported that our country mathematician Chen Jingrun conducted careful analysis and scientific calculation of the "Goldbach Conjecture" problem in the study of number theory, proving that any sufficiently large even number can represent a prime number plus at most the product of two prime numbers (referred to as "1 + 2"). This problem has been unresolved for more than two hundred years after the continuous efforts of many scientists. The book "Sieve Law" co-authored by British mathematician Haberstein and German mathematician Li Xida has ten chapters. After going to press, I saw Chen Jingrun's "1 + 2" thesis. I specially wrote an eleventh chapter for it, and the chapter is set to be "Chen's Theorem". Chen Jingrun's outstanding contributions wrote a brilliant page for the development of mathematics, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences promoted him to a researcher. Chen Jingrun's world-leading position and great achievements in number theory research have been written into the memorabilia of the People's Republic of China.
