The Hemudu Cultural Site is located in Hemudu Village, Yuyao City, with a history of more than 7000 years. Excavated from the site are a large number of plant and animal remains such as rice, thousands of agricultural production tools such as pottery, bone sickles, wooden poles, and exquisite original handicrafts. This proves that eastern Zhejiang is the earliest area in the world to cultivate rice, and that the Yangtze River Basin, like the Yellow River Basin, is also the cradle of the splendid culture of the Chinese nation. The Hemudu Site is a national key cultural relic protection unit. Cultural relics unearthed at that time were displayed at the Zhejiang Museum in Hangzhou.
