In early July 1934, after the Kuomintang army occupied Guangchang, Jianning, Yong 'an and Liancheng, it adjusted its deployment and launched a full-scale offensive from six directions to the central red base area with a strength of 31 divisions. Bogu and Li De commanded the Red Army to implement the policy of "dividing troops on six routes" and "resisting on all fronts":(1) using the 6th Division of the Red Third Army Regiment and the 21st Red Division to resist the attack of six divisions of the Kuomintang Army in the Shacun area northwest of Xingguo; (2) The 23rd Division of the Eighth Army Corps and the Independent Regiment of the Jiangxi Military Region were used to resist the attack of four divisions in the Gulonggang area, northeast of Xingguo;(3) The 13th Division of the Fifth Red Army Corps was used to resist the attack of four divisions in Toupi, Guangchang;(4) The 4th Division and the 5th Division of the Third Red Army Regiment and the 34th Division of the Fifth Red Army were used to resist the attack of five divisions in the Guanqiao and Gaohunao areas;(5) The First Red Army Corps, the Ninth Red Army and the 24th Division were used to resist the attack of six divisions in the Liancheng and Pengkou areas;(6) Use the 22nd Division to resist the attack of three divisions at Yunmen Ridge, Huichang.
