On this day, 90 years ago, on November 1, 1935 (October 6, 1935, the lunar calendar), Wang Jingwei was assassinated in Nanjing. Wang Jingwei was stabbed by patriot Sun Fengming. On November 1, 1935, the Sixth Plenary Session of the Kuomintang Central Committee opened, and all the Central Committee members gathered in front of the First Conference Hall to take photos. Seeing that the order at the venue was very chaotic, Chiang Kai-shek excused himself from being unwell and did not attend. Wang Jingwei stood in the middle and took pictures. Just as the spotlight flashed, a young man suddenly rushed out from the reporter group, drew out his pistol, and fired at Wang repeatedly. Wang Zhong shot three times and fell to the ground. After the gunshots sounded, Chiang Kai-shek and Wang Jingwei's wives rushed out of the auditorium one after another. Chiang helped Wang Jingwei up from a pool of blood. Wang's wife Chen Bijun saw that Chiang Kai-shek was not present when the photo was taken and suspected that Chiang was planning the incident. She immediately cried: "Mr. Jiang, if you don't ask Zhao Minggan, why do you do this?" Chiang Kai-shek was speechless and very embarrassed. The assassination of Wang Jingwei was carefully planned by Shanghai assassination king Wang Yaqiao. Wang entrusted Li Jishen and Chen Mingshu to prepare to assassinate Chiang Kai-shek during the meeting. The assassination was deployed 10 days before the Sixth Plenary Session of the Kuomintang Central Committee, and Sun Fengming volunteered to carry out the mission. On the night before the charity act, everyone held a farewell party for Sun Fengming in the small attic of Chenguang News Agency. On November 1, Sun Fengming strode into the venue with a reporter's pass hanging on his chest. Seeing that Chiang Kai-shek had not appeared, he followed the second plan and rushed out and shot Wang Jingwei. At the same time, he was seriously injured by the guards and was on the verge of death after being sent to the hospital. The person in charge was eager to find out who was behind the scenes from him. When asked,"Why did you assassinate President Wang?" Sun replied,"Please look at the map. Is the whole northeast and north half of China still ours?" He asked again: "Why assassinate him now? "Sun replied: " We must sign after the Sixth Plenary Session of the CPC Central Committee. If we don't fight, we will lose our country and become a slave to our country." He asked again: "What is your stance on action?" Sun replied: "I stand completely in the position of a common people."
