Thirty-four years ago today, on August 10, 1991 (July 1, 1991 lunar calendar), the first World Chinese Business Conference was held in Singapore. On August 10, 1991, the first World Chinese Business Conference was grandly opened in Singapore. More than 800 famous Chinese businesspeople from more than 70 cities in 30 countries and regions on 5 continents attended the opening ceremony. Mr. Tan Yongyu, President of the Singapore Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony, saying that many Chinese who have emigrated overseas have finally become world-renowned entrepreneurs after hard work and made great contributions to the economic development and national construction of the host country. He hoped that this conference could promote the realization of the International Chinese Business Network and establish friendly relations. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Lee pointed out that the main factors for the success of Chinese people around the world were "frugality, hard work, emphasis on education, community trust and mutual support. In short, these are the core values of Chinese culture." He hopes to pass on these cultural values to the younger generation. Sun Fuling and more than 50 Chinese business people attended the conference. Rong Yiren gave a speech at the conference entitled "China's Economic Development and the World's Chinese Businesspeople".
