Queen Liliukalani of the Kingdom of Hawaii is born

September 2, 1838 - Queen Liliukalani, Queen of the Kingdom of Hawaii

Queen Liliuokalani of Hawaii (September 2, 1838-November 11, 1917), originally known as Lydia Kamakaeha, changed her royal name to Liliuokalani after she ascended the throne, and later changed her name to Lydia Dominis following her husband's surname. She was the last monarch of the Kingdom of Hawaii.

Born into a royal family, Queen Liliucarani married American John Owen Dominis on September 16, 1862, but had no children. Since she had no children, she chose her niece, XXX Victoria Kaiulani, as her heir, but unfortunately Vitoria passed away in 1899.

Queen Liliukarani succeeded her brother Karakava to the throne on January 17, 1891. In August of the same year, her husband Dominius passed away. After she ascended the throne, she was determined to amend the Constitution because the existing Bayonet Constitution planned by the Americans limited her power. Unfortunately, at that time, Hawaii was basically controlled by Americans, and reform was difficult to carry out. In a short period of less than three years of rule, Queen Liliucarani was overthrown in 1893, and the Americans established the Republic of Hawaii the following year.

Comments: Born in the era of American aggression, the fate can only be to be invaded

Key words: September 2, 1838, Lani, Hawaii, Kingdom
