In the same year, he went to the Soviet Union to study and worked in the Eastern Department of the Communist International. He returned to China at the end of 1930. In May 1946, he served as the provincial party secretary of Hejiang Province (now eastern Heilongjiang Province). In 1948, he served as a member of the Standing Committee of the Northeast Bureau Criticized at the Lushan Conference in 1959. After the Eighth Plenary Session of the Eighth Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, he served as a research fellow at the Institute of Economics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
