After stepping down as president in 2007, Kalam frequently appeared in major universities and remote schools in India, encouraging young students to bravely pursue their dreams through lectures. After leaving office, Kalam received hundreds of emails sent to him every day from young people, most of which sought advice from him, and the vast majority of them received replies.
