On September 9, 2005 (August 6, 2005 in the lunar calendar), Xiong Xianghui, the three heroes of Longtan, passed away. Xiong Xianghui (April 1919 - September 9, 2005), formerly known as Xiong Huiquan, was born in Fengyang, Anhui Province. He was born in Ye County (now Laizhou City), Shandong Province. After the founding of New China, he fought for a long time on the party's united front and diplomatic front and made significant contributions to the party's united front and diplomatic cause. In 1962, he served as the permanent charge d'affaires of the Chinese Charge d'affaires in the UK. In January 1967, he was transferred back to China to participate in the "Cultural Revolution". In November 1970, he served as the Vice Minister of the Second Department of the General Staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. In 1971 and 1972, as an assistant to Premier Zhou Enlai, he participated in major diplomatic activities between China and the United States. After our country regained its legal seat in the United Nations, he served as the representative of the Chinese delegation to the United Nations General Assembly for the first time. In 1972, he served as the first ambassador of China to Mexico. After 1978, he served as Vice Minister of the United Front Work Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Vice President of the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs, and Deputy Director of the Office of the Leading Group for Taiwan Work of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. After 1982, he served as Secretary of the Party Group and Vice Chairperson of the China International Trust and Investment Corporation.
