On this day 40 years ago, on October 6, 1985 (August 22, 1985 lunar calendar), the first National Youth Games opened in Zhengzhou. The first National Youth Games held in the 36 years since the founding of the People's Republic of China opened in Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan Province, on the afternoon of October 6, 1985. More than 2,000 young athletes from all over the country have conducted intense pre-competition training in various competition areas for several days. Since the 7th, they have competed fiercely in twelve events held in Zhengzhou, Xinxiang, Jiaozuo, Luoyang and Kaifeng.
