On July 17, 1453, the Battle of Castinon in the Hundred Years War between Britain and France began. French famous Jane Bourget commanded 7,000 French troops to defeat 6,000 British troops. The French army used artillery on a large scale in this battle, killing and capturing nearly 4,000 British people.
