Constantine I was the eldest son of George I, the first monarch of the Schleswig-Holstein-Zondeburg-Glücksburg dynasty of Greece, and Queen Olga Konstantinovna, the grand duchess of Russia, was born on August 2, 1868 in Athens, the capital of Greece.
