On this day 58 years ago, on December 9, 1967 (November 8, 1967 in the lunar calendar), sociologist Pan Guangdan passed away. Pan Guangdan was a famous sociologist who served as a professor at the Central University for Nationalities and a member of the Standing Committee of the NLD. They were mistakenly classified as "rightists" in 1957 and died unjustly on December 9, 1967. Pan Guangdan, a native of Baoshan, Jiangsu, born in 1899. He studied in the preparatory class of Tsinghua University in the United States from 1913 to 1922. He studied in the United States from 1922 to 1926 and obtained a master's degree in biology. After returning to China, he taught courses in psychology and eugenics in various universities. Since 1934, he has successively served as a professor, provost, and director of the Department of Sociology of Tsinghua University. Pan Guangdan attaches great importance to the teaching and research of eugenics, and regards improving the quality of the nation as one of the ways to save the nation from danger. He has written "Genealogy" and "Introduction to Eugenics".
