Twenty-seven years ago today, on August 28, 1998 (July 7, 1998 in the lunar calendar), the draft "Marriage and Family Law" was issued, causing intense controversy. After more than a decade of reform and opening up, China's original marriage and family law has become increasingly difficult to meet the needs of the real society. In areas with a slightly more developed economy, the phenomenon of raising second grandmothers is no longer surprising to people; in many cities, the phenomenon of trial marriage and cohabitation is becoming more and more common, "if a man has money, he will learn bad; if a woman learns bad, she will have money" seems to be the truth; more and more families are being broken down by third party intervention and other reasons; women feel unprecedented unease; because men know that the only way to keep their women young forever is to "always eat new" - constantly replace significant others; and if they want to achieve this goal, they must have what women like - banknotes; so the society has a lot of corruption, theft and other crimes. Such a fickle society, without perfect laws, it is difficult to maintain normal order. It is understood that the draft law improves the existing Marriage Law. It is reported that the draft makes it one of the criteria for the court to decide the divorce of the husband and wife to live apart for three years; the draft stipulates that the husband and wife have a mutual loyalty obligation, and the party who has extramarital affairs or extramarital sex is regarded as the "party at fault". In the event of divorce, the aggrieved party should be compensated for the loss.
