On December 28, 2001 (November 14, 2001), my largest joint venture project received a US $1.60 billion syndicated loan. On December 28, 2001, People's Daily reported that Zhonghai Shell, the owner of the Nanhai Petrochemical Project, has officially appointed Industrial and Commercial Bank of China and China Development Bank/Bank of China (United Group) as the main lead bank for the domestic RMB syndicated loan of the project, and jointly underwrite the domestic RMB syndicated loan of 1.676 billion US dollars (about RMB 14 billion). Among them, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China is responsible for underwriting 50% of the above loans and about 838 million US dollars of domestic RMB loans. It is reported that the Nanhai Petrochemical Project is the largest Sino-foreign joint venture project in China so far and the largest overseas investment project of Shell Group in the world. The total investment of the project is more than 4 billion US dollars. According to relevant sources, the project needs to be financed at home and abroad for about 2.676 billion US dollars, and the loan period is as long as 18 years.
