Seventy-nine years ago today, on October 15, 1946 (September 21, 1946), the Nazi Luftwaffe Minister Göring committed suicide. In 1918, Göring was the Luftwaffe's ace pilot. Hermann Wilhelm Göring (1893-1946), the Nazi Luftwaffe Minister, the Chancellor of Prussia, and one of the main fascist war criminals. In 1914, he served as a lieutenant in the army. In 1918, he transferred to the air force and served as a squadron captain. In 1922, he joined the National Socialist Workers Party and soon became the head of the "Stormtrooper". He was one of Hitler's earliest accomplices and the leader of the Nazi Party. In 1932, he served as the Speaker of the Reichstag. After Hitler came to power in 1933, he successively served as Minister of the Air Force, Minister of the Air Force, and Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior of Prussia, responsible for expanding the fascist army, developing the secret police (ie "Gestapo"), and establishing concentration camps. In 1933, he collaborated with Goebbels and others to plan the Reichstag arson. In 1935, he was promoted to Field Marshal of the Air Force. From 1936, he was the full executive of the four-year plan, in charge of the national economy, and accelerated the development of aggressive armaments. He was designated successor by Hitler on the eve of World War II. He commanded the Air Force during the war, and was also responsible for mobilization and planning the racial persecution of Jews. In 1940, he was appointed head of the Economic Staff. In July of the same year, he was awarded the title of Marshal of Germany. After the defeat of Nazi Germany, the International Military Tribunal at Nuremberg in 1946 sentenced Goering was on trial, and Goering, his newlyweds to Karin, the widow of Earl Goering's ex-wife, Countess Karin, Amy, and his daughter, Edda Goering, were in Nuremberg Prison, and Goering committed suicide just before his execution.
