George Clinton's Birthday

George Clinton
George Clinton was a founding father of the United States and dedicated his life to politics. He was a soldier, politician, and member of the Democratic-Republican Party. He served as Governor of New York (1777-1795, 1801-1804) and Vice President of the United States (1805-1812).
George Clinton (July 26, 1739-April 20, 1812) was born in Orange County, New York. He was a lawyer in his early years, later entered politics, and served in the Continental Congress from 1775 to 1776. He was one of the main leaders in the Revolutionary War. In the summer of 1776, he lost the opportunity to sign the Declaration of Independence by commanding militiamen fighting in New York State. From 1777 to 1804, Clinton became governor of New York. Between 1804 and 1808, he twice participated in the U.S. presidential election, but both failed. He then served as Vice President of the United States from 1805 to 1812. The most famous action during the period was in 1811, when the Senate voted against restoring the Bank of America's charter, breaking the deadlock of the same vote, while the Madison administration supported restoring the National Bank's charter. Vice President Clinton died in office and devoted his life to politics.
Key words: July 26, 1739, United States, George Clinton
