Ulateyev Comrade Ulateyev Abduwayiti was born on July 1, 1925 in a poor Uyghur peasant family in Turpan, Xinjiang. In July 1947, in order to resist the reactionary rule of the Kuomintang government, he resolutely devoted himself to the "Three Districts" revolution in Xinjiang. He successively served as a soldier, chief of staff, platoon leader, political instructor, battalion commander, etc. of the Supplementary Regiment of the Xinjiang Ili National Army, making positive contributions to combating the reactionary rule of the Kuomintang government in Xinjiang. After the peaceful liberation of Xinjiang, Comrade Ulataiev Abduwayit successively served as the deputy political commissar of the 41st Regiment of the 14th Division of the Chinese People's Liberation Army and the political commissar of the Cultural and Art Troupe of the Political Department of the Fifth Army. In January 1951, he joined the Communist Party of China with honor. From February 1955 to June 1988, Ulataiev Abduwayit served as the deputy director of the Propaganda Department of the Political Department of the Xinjiang Military Region, the deputy director of the Political Department of the Southern Xinjiang Military Region, the deputy political commissar of the Southern Xinjiang Military Region, and the deputy political commissar of the Xinjiang Military Region. Comrade Ulateyev Abduwayiti was awarded the Third Level Liberation Medal in 1955 and the rank of Major General in 1988. He died in Guangzhou on May 21, 2007 at the age of 82. During his revolutionary career of nearly 60 years, Comrade Ulatyev Abduwayit loved the Party, the motherland, and the Communist cause. He devoted his life's energy to the great cause of safeguarding the unity of the motherland, strengthening ethnic unity, and opposing ethnic division. He loved the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang and made outstanding contributions to strengthening the military region's military construction and consolidating the northwest border for decades. He exemplified the implementation of the party's ethnic policy and safeguarded ethnic unity everywhere. In his later years, he still cared about Xinjiang's economic development and military construction, and paid attention to the development of the western region. This fully reflects the high sense of responsibility of a communist soldier to the party's cause and the revolutionary spirit of endless struggle for life. Comrade Ulatyev Abduvayit has dedicated his life to defending the frontier, building the frontier, and revolutionizing, modernizing, and regularizing the army.
