Twenty-six years ago today, on December 4, 1999 (October 27, 1999), Michel was elected as the first female leader of a major French political party. On December 4, 1999, Michel won the second round of voting with a high vote of 62.71% and was elected as the first female president in the history of the party. Michel is a pungent nature. According to legend, during Balladur's time as prime minister, Michel, who was the minister of youth and sports, went to the National Assembly for a meeting. She wore jeans, which did not comply with the women's skirt regulations, and was blocked by the gatekeeper: "Madam, only men can wear pants into the chamber." She immediately retorted: "Do you want me to take them off here?" Then she went in with her head held high. Mr. Michel ́ is a Basque born in Paris in 1946. His father, Bernard Marie, was an old Gaullist MP, a former director of litigation at the Bank of France and a rugby international referee. His mother ran a business and ran an insulation company of her own. "I feel lucky to have parents like that," says Mr. Michel ́. "They taught me a good style, high morals and a strong sense of responsibility. This is probably what many young French people lack today." Ms Michel ́ was a top student at school, earning two doctorates in law and political science. She has been in politics for more than 20 years, serving as mayor, councillor and two ministers. She is a workaholic. She did not initially want to go into politics, she said, but her family circumstances propelled her early into politics. In 1967, when Chirac was elected to Parliament at the same time as Michel's father, Chirac's family met Michel during a summer vacation on a Basque beach. Michel was 21 at the time and a graduating law student. Chirac said he would be concerned about her political future after graduation. In 1972, Michel joined the office of Edgar Fur, the education minister, and has been on the road of no return since then. Once, when Chirac persuaded her to join the Alliance for the Defense of the Republic, she replied without hesitation: "To join, like you, to lead it." Now, the joke has come true. Michel's candidacy for president of the Dai Pai came out of a joke. At a gala in July 1999, several friends were discussing the election situation for the party president. At the time, it was no secret that President Chirac supported Mayor Barbom to lead the Dai Pai. During the small chat, a friend suddenly popped up: "Hey! How about we put a lady out?" It was supposed to be a joke, but Michel's mind turned for more than half a summer. In a cafe on September 21, she unexpectedly announced her candidacy. For two months, she woke up at 5:30 every day, organized 63 election campaigns, and traveled 84 provinces in 96 provinces of mainland France, covering a distance of 40,000 kilometers, which is equivalent to turning the world. When it comes to campaigning, she mischievously quotes Chirac's experience: "There are three things to keep in mind when you run a campaign: shake hands with everyone, go to bed when you get in the car, and pee when you get the chance." She says her campaigning experience proves that these things really work. Mishel rarely talks about her private life. She is known to have had only one failed marriage. She once had a husband 24 years her senior, and they lived together for 15 years without children. She is now a free single person, and although she has a boyfriend, she is just a friend. Mishel likes to read books, mostly on law, philosophy and political economy. She also likes sports. She wakes up every morning, exercises for 20 minutes, and then takes a cold shower. During the holidays, she often goes skydiving, skiing, horseback riding... News raw data sources → https://www.abtool.cn/today_detail/1ce9.html 17WorldNews[2025.09.27-13:08] 访问:80
