Comrade Sun Futian, former deputy director of the Propaganda Department of the Tianjin Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and retired cadre, passed away at the General Hospital of Tianjin Medical University on July 10, 2014 due to ineffective medical treatment. Later, he was jointly organized into the Wanxian Guerrillas of the Second Detachment. From February 1939 to October 1945, he served as a member and instructor of the Chongchong Drama Club in the Third Division of Shanxi, Chahar and Hebei. From November 1945 to February 1948, he served as instructor and president of the Avant-garde Drama Society of the Fourth Column of Shanxi, Chahar and Hebei. In November 1948, he served as an officer of the Propaganda Department of the Political Department of the 18th Corps of the North China Field Army and an assistant member of the Corps 'Cultural Corps. In 1950, he was transferred to work and successively served as director of the Office of the Propaganda Department of the Sichuan District Party Committee of the Communist Party of China and deputy director of the Literature and Art Department of the Propaganda Department of the Southwest Bureau of the CPC Central Committee. He was transferred to Beijing in 1954 and successively served as deputy secretary-general of China Dramatists Association and director of literature and art of the Propaganda Department of the North China Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. In 1954, he was transferred to the China Dramatists Association and successively served as deputy director of the editorial department of the monthly "Script", deputy secretary-general of the Drama Association, and deputy secretary of the Party Leadership Group. In 1963, he was transferred to the Director of the Literature and Art Department of the Propaganda Department of the North China Bureau. In 1973, he was transferred to the Cultural and Educational Group of the Revolutionary Committee of Tianjin City as deputy group leader, and in 1977, he was transferred to the Propaganda Department of the Tianjin Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China as deputy director. Retired in 1982. After retiring, he still persisted in his commitment to literature and art, and was elected as the vice chairman of the second Tianjin City Federation of Literary and Art Circles in the same year. He also served as president of the Literary Research Association of the Jiefang District of Tianjin City, president of the Tianjin City Elderly Painting and Calligraphy Research Association, and deputy director of the Propaganda Department of the Tianjin City Committee for Care for the Next Generation.
