178 years ago today, on October 16, 1847 (September 8, 1847 lunar calendar), Hunan Lei Zaihao revolted. Lei Zaihao, Yao nationality, Huangbudong (present kiln town), whose birth year is unknown, lived by tenancy farming and chopping wood, believed in Qinglian Church, and entered the Heaven and Earth Association. In the sixteenth year of the Qing Dynasty (1836), the Yao people's Lanzhengzun uprising failed, and many Yao people were killed. Yao village was burned. Lei Zaihao resolutely took over the banner of uprising and planned another uprising in Huangbudong Heaven. Li Hui, a native of Xinning, whose birth year is unknown. In the sixteenth year of Daoguang, he began to secretly contact the congregation in the White Lotus Church in the name of chanting scriptures and conspire with Lei Zaihao to revolt. Lei Zaihao, Li Hui and Li Shide of Quanzhou, Guangxi, co-founded the "Gang Association" and organized civilians to oppose the Qing Dynasty. Li Shide formed a meeting in Quanzhou, and Lei Zaihao and Li Hui respectively developed congregations in Badong, Yao City, Penxi and county towns in Xinning. A few years later, there were "Gang" organizations in these places. The members were more than 20,000, and the crowd pushed Lei Zaihao and Li Shide as the eldest brother, and Li Hui as the marshal. He planned to revolt on September 18, 1847 (October 26, 1847), and attack Xinning City. Due to leaks, more than a thousand people from Li Bozhao Township, the prefect county guarded the city, and negotiated with Jiang Zhongyuan, Deng Shukun, Deng Xinke, etc., to impose martial law inside and outside, and to protect the armor. On September 6, four members were arrested, and the situation was severe. Li Hui went to Huang Budong to tell Lei Zaihao. Lei quickly discussed with Li Hui and Li Shide and revolted in advance. Li Shide returned to the whole state to gather a crowd. Lei Zaihao and Li Hui made flags and spears while splitting up to organize personnel. On September 8 (October 16, 1847), Lei Zaihao was in Huang Beidong, and Li Shide announced an uprising in Lixi, Guangxi. On the 12th, Li Bo, the governor of the county, Jiang Zhongyuan, the leader of the landlord regiment, and Deng Shukun led 2,000 officers and soldiers from Yongxiang to besiege Huang Beidong. Lei Zaihao's defense was not fixed, and he quickly led his troops to Zhuangtang, Quanzhou, to meet with Li Shide's department. Li Bo burst into the air, burned Lei Zaihao's house, and looted back to the city for a while. The rebels robbed the rich and helped the poor all the way, and the poor people participated one after another, and the team increased to more than a thousand people. Lei Zaihao immediately set up a camp, and the soldiers were divided into 5 battalions, and each battalion was set up with a leader. On the 14th, the rebels attacked the Yanshuikou in Quanzhou, Guangxi, which greatly defeated the officers and army. On the 15th, they returned to Xinning and planned to attack the county seat. Due to the large number of troops and horses in the city and the strict security, it was difficult to overcome, and it was decided to establish another five rows of new base areas in Guangxi. So the army was divided into two teams: Lei Zaihao and Li Hui led a team to go first, conquered Guali on the 22nd, and entered the fifth platoon; on the 25th, they crossed the small pool mountain range and met with Guangxi officers and soldiers, killing Liu Chunlin, foreign commissar Chen Guoxiong and more than 40 soldiers, and seizing a large number of arms; taking advantage of the victory to capture Baitong, Meitang, Shimenping, Chaping, Datuo and other places, the team grew to 3,000 people. The uprising army was gaining momentum, and the imperial court ordered the governors of Guangxi and Hunan to block the speed. After Li Shide was defeated and hanged himself, Lei and Li took in the rest of the army and moved to Guangxi. From October 12th to Zhaohuo City, the dead officers defended Li Tingyang, Foreign Commissioners Ma Ruichun, Ma Xueqian, and more than 80 soldiers, including Peng Wenzhi and more than 80 soldiers. They wounded Du Si He Tingbiao, captured 22 cannons and dozens of shotguns, and the insurgent army achieved a major victory. After that, the officers stepped up their siege and suppression, and Lei Zaihao was frustrated one after another. He had to turn around to Badong, Xinning, to defend and stand by for an attack. At dawn on the 22nd, the officers were defeated by the heavy fog by the cucumber in two ways and entered the deep chong tunnel, digging and setting up a card. Badong Mountain is high and dense, and there are cliffs everywhere. It is easy to defend and difficult to attack, and the officers and Soon, the rebel generals Chen Xinjin and Li Shangkai defected, and the two persuaded Lei Zaihao to abandon Badong and attack Wugang, and secretly made an appointment with the army on the way to ambush. On the 26th, Lei led his army out of Dongdong to attack Wugang, and the army reached Mao'an. Suddenly, they were ambushed. The rebel army responded in a hurry, and the casualties were heavy. The traitors Chen Xinjin and Li Shangkai took advantage of the thunder and tied them up and sent them to the Qingying camp to take credit. The next day, the official army and Xiangyong searched the mountains, and Li Hui was also captured. At the end of the year, Lei Zaihao and Li Hui died together in Changsha.
