On this day, 68 years ago, on June 8, 1957 (May 11, 1957 in the lunar calendar), Mao Zedong personally drafted the "Anti-Rightist" document. On June 8, 1957, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China issued the "Instructions on Organizing Forces to Prepare to Counterattack the Wild Attack of Rightists" personally drafted by Mao Zedong. Point out that reactionaries are attacking crazily. The wavering elements among the Party and League members either defected or swayed and thought of betrayal. All provincial and municipal agencies, colleges and universities, and party newspapers at all levels must actively prepare to counterattack the attack of the rightists. This is a great political struggle and ideological struggle. Now we are taking the initiative to rectify the situation and bring out possible "Hungarian incidents" and divide them into various agencies and schools for drills and handling, and divide them into many small "Hungarys." The "Instructions" make specific arrangements for the struggle against the rightists: use big-character posters as combat weapons to gain experience in the struggle and train talents; reactionaries put forward opinions to the party and try their best to make the rightists spit out all toxins. It is best to let reactionary professors, lecturers, teaching assistants and students spit out toxins and speak freely; cleverly push leftist and central elements to speak and counterattack the rightists. From then on, large-scale struggles to counter the attack of the bourgeois rightists have been launched across the country. In November 1956, at the Second Plenary Session of the Eighth Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, it was proposed to prepare to launch a rectification movement in 1957. In April 1957, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China issued the "Instructions on the Rectification Movement." From May to June, the United Front Work Department held 14 symposiums attended by leaders of democratic parties and non-party democrats to solicit opinions on the party's work. On July 9, Mao Zedong delivered a speech entitled "Repelling the Attack of the Bourgeois Rightists" at the Shanghai Cadre Conference. In the same month, he wrote "The Situation in the Summer of 1957", which analyzed and arranged how to carry out the anti-rightist struggle to the end and how to continue the rectification movement and socialist education movement of the whole party and the people across the country. In the late summer of 1958, the anti-rightist struggle ended. In this struggle, it is absolutely necessary to counterattack a small number of rightists and criticize their reactionary trend of thought against the Party and socialism. However, the anti-Rightist struggle has been seriously expanded, and even the so-called "drawing a snake out of its hole" method has been used, resulting in a large number of intellectuals, patriots and party cadres being mistakenly classified as rightists, resulting in unfortunate consequences. From 1959 to 1964, in accordance with the instructions of the Party Central Committee and Mao Zedong, the label of rightists was removed in five batches. On November 17, 1978, the People's Daily editorial: "A Major Proletarian Policy" pointed out: "The work of removing the hat has been completely completed." Those who were wrongly classified as rightists were corrected in a pragmatic manner. News raw data sources → https://www.abtool.cn/today_detail/1l5b.html 17WorldNews[2025.09.27-13:04] 访问:70
