On this day, 97 years ago, August 27, 1928 (July 13, 1928, the Kellog-Briand Convention was signed. U.S. President Coolidge signed the Kellog-Briand Convention. On August 27, 1928, the United States, France, Britain, Germany and 11 other countries signed the Kellog-Briand Convention in Paris, declaring the war illegal.
