On this day 37 years ago, on July 5, 1988 (May 22, 1988 lunar calendar), the National School of Administration was established. On July 5, 1988, Li Peng presided over a meeting of the Premier's Office of the State Council to study the issue of preparing for the establishment of the National School of Administration. The meeting pointed out that the National School of Administration was established to meet the needs of political system reform and economic reform and to implement the national civil service system. Its duties and tasks are mainly to train senior and middle-level national civil servants. Renmin University of China was entrusted to be responsible for the preparation work. On November 15, the opening ceremony of the first training course of the National School of Administration was held in Beijing.
