Havana Declaration issued on September 2, 1960
On this day 65 years ago, on September 2, 1960 (July 12, 1960 lunar calendar), the Havana Declaration was issued. The Havana Declaration is the anti-imperialist declaration of the Cuban people. Adopted at the National People's Congress held in Havana, the capital of Cuba, on September 2, 1960. The main contents are: Condemn the interference of the United States in Latin America; Declare that the countries of Latin America have the right to strive for national liberation, democratic freedom and basic human rights; Declare the establishment of diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of China. On February 4, 1962, the Second National People's Congress was held in Havana and adopted the Second Havana Declaration. It mainly discusses the political situation in Latin America and condemns the enslavement, plunder and armed aggression of the people of Latin America by the United States. Castro says he will no longer accept the positions of president of the Council of State and commander-in-chief of the Revolutionary Armed Forces
