Dutch linguist and historian Johan Hoizinha was born

John Hoizinha
On December 7, 1872, the Dutch linguist and historian John Heizinha was born.
Johann Kheizinha was born in Groningen, the Netherlands, and mastered Arabic at school. In "My Path to History," Kheizinha outlines the development of his ideas, his youthful enthusiasm for heraldry and antiquity, his disappointment with Oriental studies, and the concept of the book "The Decline of the Middle Ages," which made him famous. The emergence of totalitarian ideas inspired him to stand up for Western literature and art in "Tomorrow Is Coming," but in "The Game Man," he maintained his belief in transcendental values. In 1942, Kheizinha was taken hostage by the German occupation forces and then confined to a small village. On February 1, 1945, on the eve of the liberation of the Netherlands, he died with indomitable spirit.
As an outstanding cultural historian in the 20th century, he has unique views on culture. First of all, the "equilibrium theory" was proposed. Culture can be seen as a harmonious balance between material and spiritual forces. The imbalance between the two will lead to social crises. The "game theory" was also proposed. Culture always has certain elements and characteristics of games. If the elements of games decline in culture, it will inevitably endanger the survival of the entire society. "Equilibrium Theory" and "Game Theory" are the core contents of his cultural thoughts.
