After the situation was over, Wang Yaowu fled in a hurry with his guard Qiao Yupei. Wang Yaowu used the alias Qiao Kun, and the two falsely called uncle and nephew. They climbed out of the city in plain clothes from the Liushuigou at the North Gate of Jinan. They hired a large cart and bought simple bedding. Wrapped in a white towel, Wang Yaowu said he was from a small restaurant in a commercial port in Jinan, and rushed to Qingdao to seek medical treatment because of a leg injury. After leaving the city, Wang Yaowu and his party went relatively smoothly from Jinan to Qingdao. Wang Yaowu is from Tai'an, and his Shandong dialect makes it difficult for his Shandong traders to dress up. Although the People's Liberation Army and the militia are on guard, Wang Yaowu and his party encountered almost no obstacles. They fled to a village in Shouguang County. Suddenly, Wang Yaowu was about to relieve himself and ran under a bridge. Without thinking, the accompanying guards handed Wang Yaowu toilet paper - toilet paper is white soft paper imported from the United States, which was used by only Kuomintang dignitaries at that time. This aroused the suspicion of the local villagers, who reported the situation to the Shouguang County Public Security Bureau. Wang Yaowu and his party were stopped. The police officers asked them where they were from. Wang Yaowu still spoke Shandong dialect and said that he was a small trader and was going to Qingdao to marry relatives. At this time, the leading soldiers dug out imported high-grade toilet paper from the pockets of Wang Yaowu's guards, and Wang Yaowu showed nervousness. The soldiers took Wang Yaowu and his guards to the Shouguang County Public Security Bureau at the time. After reporting to Li Peizhi, the director of the Public Security Bureau at the time, Li Peizhi personally participated in the interrogation of Wang Yaowu. After Jinan was breached, Wang Yaowu was raided by Huayo, but only two tractors were recovered.
