On this day, 40 years ago, June 29, 1985 (May 12, 1985, the lunar calendar), Chen Yun proposed that the two civilizations should be grasped together. (June 29, 1985) 1. The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection held an exchange meeting on experience in correcting party style work to summarize good experiences in grasping party style work. This is necessary to promote further improvement of party style and ensure the smooth progress of economic system reform. 2. Let all comrades in the party understand that we are engaged in the cause of socialism and the ultimate goal is to realize communism. This is very important. Under the leadership of the Party Central Committee, the economic construction currently being carried out in our country is socialist economic construction, and economic system reform is also socialist economic system reform. Any member of the Communist Party must keep in mind at all times that we are engaged in the four socialist modernizations, not other modernizations; the cause we are engaged in is the cause of socialism. When building socialist material civilization, if the construction of socialist spiritual civilization is not carried out at the same time, the construction of material civilization may deviate from the right direction. If any unit or leading cadre forgets or slackens the construction of socialist spiritual civilization, it will be impossible to do a good job in the construction of material civilization. In serious cases, it may even deviate from the ideals of socialism and communism, which is very dangerous. 3. In the fourth quarter of last year, when those unhealthy tendencies hit, many Communist Party members, some veteran party members and veteran cadres, were also involved. We must be vigilant about this matter. We must fully realize that the key to the construction of socialist spiritual civilization is that the ruling party must have a good party style. It is necessary to strengthen party spirit education among Communist Party members and improve the quality of Communist Party members. 4. Building socialist spiritual civilization is the task of the whole party, and the party's disciplinary inspection department bears major responsibilities. Comrades must resolutely stop unhealthy trends, correct the party style, strengthen the party spirit of all party members, and ensure and promote the construction of socialist material civilization from the perspective of spiritual civilization construction. Let socialist economic construction and socialist economic system reform follow the right track and continue to advance. To sum up, there are two sentences: First, we hope that comrades in the discipline inspection department and comrades in the whole party will always pay attention to the construction of spiritual civilization while building material civilization, and both civilizations should be grasped together. The second is to focus on the construction of socialist spiritual civilization. The key is to do a good job in the party's party style, improve the party spirit awareness of Communist Party members, and firmly maintain the purity of communism.
