Breaking-News >> TodayHistory September 25, 1881, the birthday of the great writer Lu Xun
On this day 144 years ago, September 25, 1881 (August 3, 1881 in the lunar calendar), the great writer Lu Xun was born. Lu Xun looked at his son Haiying, and his face was full of happiness when he had fifty children. September 25, 1881, is the birthday of our country's great writer, thinker and revolutionary Lu Xun. We commemorate any martyr and famous person with the aim of inheriting and carrying forward their immortal spirit to inspire future generations to move forward along the road they pioneered. In order to commemorate him, it is necessary for us to revisit the wonderful article of Mao Zedong's "On Lu Xun" on October 19, 1937: The main task of our public school in northern Shaanxi today is the task of cultivating the anti-Japanese vanguard. As this great war of national self-defense moves forward rapidly, we need a large number of activists to lead and a large number of refined vanguards to open the way. Such vanguards are frank-minded, loyal, active and upright; they are not self-interested, and only for the liberation of the nation and society; they are not afraid of difficulties, always firm in the face of difficulties, and move forward bravely; they are not arrogant, not limelight, but down-to-earth people with practical spirit. They play the role of guides on the road of revolution. The current situation of the war is only a war of resistance between the government and the army, without the participation of the broad masses of the people. There is absolutely no guarantee of final victory. We now need to create a large number of vanguards who will fight for national liberation to the end, and ask them to lead the masses and organize the masses to complete this historical task. First of all, the vast vanguard of the whole country must be organized quickly. Our Communist Party is the vanguard of the proletariat and at the same time the vanguard of the most thorough national liberation. We must fight hard to complete this task. We commemorate Mr. Lu Xun today, first of all, we must know Mr. Lu Xun, and we must understand his place in the history of the Chinese revolution. We commemorate him not only because he wrote well and was a great writer, but also because he was an urgent vanguard of national liberation and gave great help to the revolution. He was not a member of the Communist Party, but his ideas, actions, and writings were all Marxist. He was a Bolshevik outside the Party. Especially in his later years, he showed younger strength. He consistently and unswervingly fought against the feudal forces and imperialism, and endured and resisted in the harsh environment where the enemy oppressed and destroyed him. Just as the comrades of the Northern Shaanxi Public School were able to study revolutionary theory diligently in such a bad material life, they were full of the spirit of arduous struggle. All the material equipment of the Northern Shaanxi Public School is not good, but there is truth and freedom here, which is the place where the revolutionary vanguard is cultivated. Lu Xun came out of the crumbling feudal society, but he would return to the carbine and attack the corrupt society he had experienced and the evil forces of imperialism. With his pungent, humorous, and powerful pen, he drew the grimaces of the dark forces and the ugly faces of imperialism. He is simply a high-level painter. In recent years, he has stood on the position of the proletariat and national liberation, fighting for truth and freedom. The first characteristic of Mr. Lu Xun is his political foresight. He uses telescopes and microscopes to observe society, so he can see far and see the truth. In 1936, he boldly pointed out the dangerous tendencies of the Trotskyist gangsters, and the facts now fully prove that his views are so accurate and clear. The value of Lu Xun in China, in my opinion, is the first-class saint in China. Confucius was a saint in feudal society, and Lu Xun is a saint in modern China. To commemorate him forever, we established the Lu Xun Library in Yan'an, and extended the opening of the Lu Xun Normal School, so that later people can imagine his greatness. The second characteristic of Lu Xun is his fighting spirit. As I have just mentioned, he was a big tree supported independently in the attack of darkness and violence, not a grass that fell on both sides. He saw the direction of politics clearly, and he fought bravely towards a goal, never surrendering or compromising halfway. Some incomplete revolutionaries initially participated in the struggle, but later "deserted". For example, Kautsky in Germany and Plekhanov in Russia are obvious examples. There are also many such people in China. As Mr. Lu Xun said, at first everyone was left and revolutionary, and when the oppression came, someone immediately defected and offered his comrades to the enemy as a meeting gift. Lu Xun hated such people, fought against such people, and always educated and trained the literary youth under his leadership, teaching them to fight resolutely, to be the vanguard, and to open up their own way. The third characteristic of Lu Xun is his spirit of sacrifice. He did not fear the threats, inducements, and mutilations of the enemy at all. He did not shy away from stabbing the pen like a knife at everything he hated. He often stood in the bloodstains of the soldiers, resisting tenaciously and roaring forward. Lu Xun was a complete realist, he was uncompromising, he had a resolute heart. In an article, he advocated hitting a drowning dog. He said that if you don't hit a drowning dog, once it jumps up, it will bite you, and at least splash mud all over your body. So he advocated fighting to the end. He has no false compassion hypocrite color at all. Now the mad dog of Japanese imperialism has not been knocked into the water by us. We must fight until he can't turn over and withdraw from the Chinese border. We must learn this spirit of Lu Xun and apply it to the whole of China. Combining these characteristics, a great "Lu Xun spirit" is formed. This spirit runs through Lu Xun's life. Therefore, he became a great writer in literature and art, and was a very good and experienced vanguard in the revolutionary ranks. When we commemorate Lu Xun, we must learn the spirit of Lu Xun and bring it to the anti-Japanese army all over the country to fight for the liberation of the Chinese nation!
