The main task is to publish and distribute Marxist theoretical works and translated works. The People's Publishing House, established after the founding of the People's Republic of China, is a continuation of the People's Publishing House in the 1920s and a development in the new historical period. It mainly publishes classic works of Marxism-Leninism, works of the older generation of revolutionaries in China, important documents of the party and the country and speech works of leaders, reading materials on the history of the Communist Party of China and party building, reading materials on economics, philosophy, politics, scientific socialism, history, etc., important documents of foreign Communist Parties and speeches and works of leaders, as well as representative foreign political academic books and reference materials. There are multiple library editing rooms and editorial rooms for periodicals such as Xinhua Monthly, Xinhua Digest, and People magazine. The Complete Works of Marx and Engels and the Complete Works of Lenin have been published. Works by Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, Liu Shaoqi, Zhu De, Ren Bishi, Dong Biwu, Li Dazhao, Qu Qiubai, Zhang Wentian and others were successively published, and selected works by Deng Xiaoping and Chen Yun were published.
