On this day 66 years ago, on December 9, 1959 (November 10, 1959 in the lunar calendar), the Chinese government protested against Indonesia's anti-Chinese and anti-Chinese activities. On December 9, 1959, Indonesia recently experienced anti-Chinese activities that seriously endangered the friendly relations between China and Indonesia. On December 9, Chinese Foreign Minister Chen Yi wrote to Indonesian Foreign Minister Subandrio to seriously protest the large-scale anti-Chinese and anti-Chinese activities and put forward three suggestions for the national solution to the issue of overseas Chinese: 1. The two governments immediately exchange the ratification of the treaty on dual nationality, and at the same time discuss and stipulate the means for implementing this treaty; 2. Effectively protect the legitimate rights and interests of overseas Chinese who voluntarily retain Chinese nationality or choose Indonesian nationality but are not approved; 3. For the displaced or unwilling to continue living in Indonesia, the Chinese government is ready to arrange for them to return to China to participate in the construction, hoping that the Indonesian government will send them back in batches and ensure their safety on the way home. On December 24, Chen Yixin revived Bandrio and suggested that the two sides immediately hold talks to comprehensively resolve the issue of overseas Chinese and immediately exchange the ratifications of the China-Indonesia treaty on dual nationality in Beijing. At the same time, a joint committee has been established in Jakarta, and the Chinese government has appointed Huang Zhen, the Chinese ambassador to Indonesia, as the chief representative.
