On July 12, 2010 (June 1, 2010 in the lunar calendar), Sa Shixuan, the founder of the database discipline, passed away. Mr. Sa Shixuan, born in December 1922, was from Fuzhou, Fujian. Professor of Renmin University of China and one of the founders of the Chinese database, died in Beijing on July 12, 2010 due to ineffective medical treatment, at the age of 88. Mr. Sa Shixuan has been the director of the Mathematics Teaching and Research Section of Renmin University of China since 1950, presiding over the work of the Mathematics Teaching and Research Section, and was responsible for the teaching of public mathematics courses in economics and management throughout the university. Under his leadership, the content and system of the basic curriculum of liberal arts mathematics was established. This curriculum system is still followed and adopted by most economics and management majors across the country. The Sa Shixuan Elite Fund was established by the School of Information of Renmin University in order to inherit and carry forward the excellent tradition of caring for post-learning and cultivating talents of Professor Sa Shixuan, the first generation of database tycoon. NPC Jincang has a deep relationship with the School of Information of Renmin University, and is also one of the participants of the Sa Shixuan Elite Fund. Over the years, NPC Jincang has always been committed to the research and development and promotion of domestic databases, data analytics and other systems and solutions with independent intellectual property rights.
