67 years ago today, June 16, 1958 (April 29, 1958 in the lunar calendar), Hungary executed former Prime Minister Najib. On June 16, 1958, Imre Nagy, a Hungarian Communist who had served twice as Prime Minister, was executed overnight by the pro-Soviet regime. Najib turned out to be a Bolshevik and later became a moderate. In 1956, he returned to power with the support of anti-Soviet forces. Less than a month later, Soviet tanks rolled into Budapest and Naji was kidnapped by the Soviet secret police. After his arrest, he was transported to Romania, interrogated in secret and found guilty. Later, he was sent back to Hungary and hanged. Also executed with the former prime minister was former Defense Minister General Paul Malette. News raw data sources → https://www.abtool.cn/today_detail/1m73.html 17WorldNews[2025.09.27-12:57] 访问:88
