On September 10, 2002 (August 4, 2002 in the lunar calendar), Nanjing Normal University celebrated its 100th anniversary. September 10, 2002 is the 18th Teachers 'Day in my country and the 100th anniversary of the founding of Nanjing Normal University. Nearly 50,000 people from all walks of life at home and abroad, alumni from all over the country, and all teachers, students and staff of Nanjing Normal University gathered at Nanjing Normal University to celebrate this festive day. Li Ruihuan, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, wrote an inscription for the celebration: "Carry forward good traditions and create new brilliance." Peng Peiyun and Xu Jialu, Vice Chairmen of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, also wrote inscriptions to express congratulations. Nanjing Normal University was born 100 years ago. Its predecessor was Sanjiang Normal School founded by Zhang Zhidong. After a century of development, Nanjing Normal University now has strong strength in discipline construction, teaching and scientific research, and talent training. It is one of the 100 universities that the country will focus on building for the 21st century. The subject categories cover ten categories: literature, history, philosophy, economics, law, management, science, engineering, agriculture and education. Nanjing Normal University has three campuses: Suiyuan, Zijin and Xianlin. It has 24 colleges (departments) with 57 undergraduate majors, and a total of 23,000 teachers and students.
