67 years ago today, on August 29, 1958 (July 15, 1958 lunar calendar), the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China decided to establish people's communes in rural areas across the country. On August 29, 1958, the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China made a resolution at the Beidaihe Conference on the issue of establishing people's communes in rural areas, calling on all parts of the country to convert small communes into people's communes as soon as possible. The main contents are: 1. Make sure that the people's communes implement the integration of government and society, and combine workers, peasants, soldiers, academics and businesspeople. 2. Emphasize the method of combining small communes and large communes. First, the original small communes will jointly elect the management committee of the large commune to set up the shelf of the people's commune. 3. In the process of union, the differences in public property and debts of each small community should be treated with the "spirit of communism". Fourth, pointing out that the people's communes are currently collectively owned, and can later become owned by the whole people, and preparing for the transition to communism. On September 10, the People's Daily published an editorial "First Build the Shelf of the People's Communes".
