On November 4, 1903, Huang Xing organized the Huaxing Conference
On this day, 122 years ago, November 4, 1903 (September 16, 1903, the lunar calendar), Huang Xing organized the Huaxing Conference. On November 4, 1903, Huang Xing, Chen Tianhua, Zhang Shizhao, Song Jiaoren and others initiated the organization of the revolutionary group Huaxing Association to engage in activities to overthrow the feudal rule of the Qing government. Huang Xing was elected president of Huaxing Association. Huang Xing is a follower and most important collaborator of Dr. Sun Yat-sen. In 1902, Huang Xing went to Japan to study. Influenced by the bourgeois democratic revolution, he turned to revolution. In 1903, he joined the Volunteer Corps to Resist Russia, and soon after, the Volunteer Corps was renamed the Military National Education Association. In the summer of the same year, the Military and National Education Association sent him back to Changsha to carry out revolutionary activities. On November 4, in the name of celebrating his 30th birthday, he invited one to twenty people including Chen Tianhua, Song Jiaoren, and Liu Kuiyi to secretly discuss the establishment of the Huaxing Association to engage in revolutionary activities against the Qing Dynasty. In order to avoid the attention of the Qing government, the Huaxing Association used the name of "Huaxing Company" and used the banner of gathering shares to "set up mining". On February 25, 1904, the founding meeting of the Huaxing Association was officially held at Dong Longzhang's Xiguo residence of Mingde School. More than 100 people attended the meeting. The meeting elected Huang Xing as president and Song Jiaoren and Liu Kuiyi as vice presidents. Based on Huang Xing's proposal, the Huaxing Association decided that Hunan would first launch the attack and then expand to various provinces to respond. The revolutionary slogan put forward by the Huaxing Association is "Expulsion of the Tartars and Revitalization of China." He also decided to start with the Liaison Committee and carry out revolutionary activities. Outside the Huaxing Association, a separate Association of Enemies was established to liaise with the party. In the early spring of 1904, Huang Xing and Liu Kuiyi braved the snow and walked 30 miles away from night to a cave in the Chayuanpu Mine in Xiangtan. They met with Ma Fuyi, the leader of the famous Ge Lao Society in Hunan at that time, to discuss the plan for the uprising. They decided to hold an armed uprising in Changsha on the 10th day of the summer calendar that year. On the 70th birthday of the Empress Dowager on the 10th day of the tenth month of the summer calendar, Huang Xing was promoted to be the commander in chief, and Liu Kuiyi and Ma Fuyi served as the commander and deputy commanders. In late October, when the uprising was accidentally leaked out, the Changsha Prefectural Yamen searched for revolutionaries, and Huang Xing fled to Japan in disguise. When Sun Yat-sen arrived in Japan in July 1905, Huang Xing and Sun Yat-sen met after being introduced by his Japanese friend Shinzo Miyazaki. Sun Yat-sen advocated uniting revolutionary forces, and Huang Xing agreed. On August 20, some members of the Xingzhong Association, Huaxing Association, Restoration Association and other groups among students studying in Japan established an alliance in Tokyo. Huang Xing became the most important leader in the league after Sun Yat-sen.
