On July 15, 2007 (June 2, 2007 in the lunar calendar), Jin Xingyao, a master of Chinese literature and history, died. Jin Xingyao (1916-2007), alias Xingwu, pen name Wen Zaidao, was a native of Dinghai, Zhejiang Province, and a contemporary classical writer. Jin Xingyao studied at Ruan's Family School as a child, and wrote articles in the supplement of Zhoubao from 1934 to 1935. After the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War, the family moved to Shanghai and edited "Lu Xunfeng", "Xiao Xiao", "Literature and History", and published "Xingwu Xiaowen", "Terroir Notes" and "Written Copies". After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he served as the deputy director of the second editorial office of the Shanghai Editing Office of the China Book Bureau; after the end of the "Cultural Revolution", he published "Three Hundred New Notes on Tang Poems", "Three Hundred Poems in Song Dynasty", "Three Hundred Poems in Ming Dynasty", "Poems by the Fireside", etc.; his works were published as "Foot Extension Records", "Pen Disasters in the Qing Dynasty", "The Coup of the Qing Dynasty Court", "Drinking River Records", "No Shang Records", "Records in the Soil", "Retreat Records", "The Ghosts of the Six Palaces", "The Spring and Autumn Period of the Fallen", "The Monarch of the Fallen Kingdom", "The Story of the Qing Palace", "The Heart of the Three Kingdoms", etc. In 1988, he also edited the Poetry Workshop series for the Hong Kong Chinese Bookstore. His personal works include "Sitting and Talking about the Book of Songs" and "Talking about Han Liu in the Night". Mr. Jin Xingyao passed away on July 15, 2007.
