Sixty-nine years ago today, on May 26, 1956 (April 17, 1956), the Beijing-Lhasa flight test was successful. The test plane flying from Beijing landed at Lhasa Airport, the first "condor" to reach this plateau city. At 9:23 am on May 26, 1956, the first leading transport plane flying from Beijing to Lhasa landed safely at the airport near Lhasa, and the Beijing-Lhasa flight test was successful. The pilots, led by Han Lin, flew over the Kunlun Mountains, Bayan Hala Mountains, Tanggula Mountains and the famous Hengduan Mountains. They fought numerous heroic battles with high-altitude winds of more than 100 kilometers at the same time, surging malignant vertical airflow and severe cold and hail of minus 30 or 40 degrees, and finally landed successfully at the airport near Lhasa. They were welcomed by more than 10,000 reveling Tibetan people. The Tibetans hung Hada and highland barley on the plane to express their blessings and presented colorful flowers to the pilots. After the pilot's transport plane went on trial, the "Beijing" passenger plane arrived in Lhasa at 10 am on the 27th, opening another air route from Beijing to Lhasa.
