Eighty years ago today, on July 14, 1945 (June 6, 1945 in the lunar calendar), Zhang Luping, a "red spy" who was "lurking" beside Dai Li, was killed. On July 14, 1945, Zhang Luping, who broke into the Military General Bureau of the Kuomintang secret service organization, was killed in Xifeng Prison, Guizhou. Zhang Luping, formerly known as Yu Jiaying, was sent to Yan'an Military and Political University in 1937 at the age of 16 by Che Yaoxian, the head of the Sichuan Special Committee of the Communist Party of China. After graduating in 1939, she served as a secretary of the Yan'an Federation of Literary and Art Circles. Zhang Luping was born in Chongqing County, Sichuan Province (now Chongzhou City) in 1921. In November 1937, with the help of Che Yaoxian and the party organization, Zhang Luping went to Yan'an, graduated from the Northern Shaanxi Public School and the Anti-Japanese Military and Political University, and joined the Communist Party of China in October 1938. In October 1939, Zhang Luping was sent back to Sichuan by the party to work, secretly infiltrated the Telecommunications Department of the Chongqing Kuomintang Military and General Administration Bureau, and served as the secretary of the party's underground party branch in the Military and General Administration. The important information intercepted by the comrades from the military and general administration organs was sent to the Southern Bureau. The underground party branch led by Zhang Luping was like an unsheathed sword, inserted into the heart of the enemy, and built a party's "red radio station" in the enemy's most strict and confidential secret chief organs, and made many of the enemy's secret operations mastered by our party. In March 1940, the underground party branch was accidentally exposed, and Zhang Luping and other seven people were all arrested. Zhang Luping and the others were tortured, strong and unyielding, and the enemy got nothing from them. On July 14, 1945, the enemy took Zhang Luping, Zhang Weilin, Feng Chuanqing, Zhao Ligeng, Yang Guang, Chen Guozhu, and Wang Xizhen into the torture cart. On the execution ground, Zhang Luping and her comrades shouted with all their last strength: "Down with the Kuomintang reactionaries!" "Long live the Communist Party of China!" Zhang Luping, the good daughter of the party, died heroically at the age of 24.
