On this day 125 years ago, on July 6, 1900 (June 10, 1900), Tsar Nicholas II ordered a massive invasion of Northeast China. On July 6, 1900, the last Tsar Nicholas II took himself as commander-in-chief and issued a mobilization order to mobilize about 180,000 troops and invade Northeast China in six ways. In addition to participating in the joint operations of the Eight-Power Allied Forces, Tsar Russia also sent troops alone to invade the three northeastern provinces. When the Boxer Rebellion movement developed to the Northeast region, Tsar Russia used this as an excuse. On July 30, they occupied Hailar, Hunchun, and the three surnames (now Yilan); on August 3, they occupied Harbin; on August 4, they occupied Aigun and Yingkou; on August 29, they occupied Qiqihar and Ningguta (now Anning); on September 1, they occupied Bethune (now Fuyu); on September 22, they occupied Jilin; on October 28, they occupied Liaoyang; on October 1, they occupied Fengtian (now Shenyang); on October 6, they occupied Tieling; and on October 31, they occupied Jinzhou. The main cities and transportation lines in Northeast China were occupied by Tsarist Russia.
