On November 25, 1997, the remains of some crew members of a US B-24 bomber that crashed in Heichong in Maoershan, Xing 'an County, Guangxi during World War II were handed over by Guangxi to representatives of the US Expert Group on Missing Persons who came to the crash site to investigate. This is the second time that China has handed over the remains of US military crew members to the United States. On January 15, 1997, China handed over the remains of US military crew members to the United States for the first time.
