30 years ago today, on July 8, 1995 (June 11, 1995 lunar calendar), Bank of Tokyo Beijing Branch, the first foreign bank in Beijing, opened. The opening ceremony of Bank of Tokyo Beijing Branch, the first foreign bank in Beijing, was held on the morning of July 8, 1995 at Beijing Development Building. Bank of Tokyo Beijing Branch was established with the approval of the head office of the People's Bank of China. Founded in 1880, Bank of Tokyo is a professional foreign exchange bank in Japan with total assets of 242.40 billion US dollars, ranking 21st in the world. The Bank of Tokyo has nearly 40 years of exchanges with China, and has provided loans for many key projects in China, directly or indirectly supporting China's economic construction.
